Clothes Closet volunteers were honored recently. Currently, there are almost 30 volunteers who make the ministry happen and 23 were able to attend the event. The Clothes Closet has been located at the North Waverly Chapel since 2005 and is open 2 times a week on Tuesdays 6:30p-8:30p and Wednesdays 12n-2p as well as by special appointment in urgent situations. In addition to honoring everyone, a few were singled out for special honors. Mary Cerutti and Sally Clapp were honored for 13 years of faithful service and are ones of only a handful of original volunteers serving since the move of the ministry to the North Waverly Chapel. Both are retiring at the end of the year and will be sorely missed. Marie Wheeler was honored for her many years of faithful service working and now essentially leading our team which works twice each week to sort and put out items. She doesn’t have an official title, but she is the heart of the team and makes it a joy to serve. And last but certainly not least, Cathy Moliski was honored for her above and beyond service as she works with the team twice a week, but also comes and works, sometimes almost daily, caring for donations. She has more energy than most of us can even imagine and she has such a heart for those in need. Kim Paul, Coordinator of the Clothes Closet, says “I am so blessed to be part of a ministry with so many great, dedicated people all with a heart to serve the Lord and those in need in our community.”
